Photos of a dog wearing a menacing-looking dog muzzle has gone viral. Shaped into a snarl with over-sized, bloodied teeth, the novelty muzzle makes a dog look like a scary werewolf.

The Russian-designed dog muzzle is made from non-toxic plastic and nylon and permits a dog to open his/her mouth and breath easily. The makers of the muzzle said it is intended for fun rather than for training, but its appearance has stirred debate among dog lovers.

The unusual muzzle has had many people who live in countries where firearms are permitted comment that the muzzle is probably not a good idea if you don’t want people to mistake your dog as vicious. Other dog owners have said it might inadvertently provoke other dogs to attack.
On the flip side, many people view the muzzle as harmless fun if a dog is leashed when out with their owner and a fantastic costume idea for Halloween.
