Vet Tenderly Comforts Scared Puppy After Her Surgery

Every day, veterinarians tend to animals at shelters. And every day, they make a difference. Sometimes, that difference can be a simple gesture of comfort.

Such a moment recently occurred at the BARCS Animal Shelter in Baltimore, Maryland.

Puppy Meesha was coming off her anesthesia from her spay surgery and was a little scared because her body felt so weird. That’s when Dennis Moses, who assisted with the puppy’s surgery, gave her some much needed TLC.

“BARCS Surgical Assistant Dennis Moses took her out into the quiet hallway to comfort her,” explains BARCS in the video’s description. “One of our awesome volunteers just happened to be walking by to capture this sweet moment.”

Moses comforts Meesha’s whimpering by singing to her softly and giving her lots of kisses!

It’s just another day in the life of a veterinarian. But the work and care they give is appreciated by everyone at BARCS.

“Thank you to Dennis and all the staff who work long, tireless hours in the background of our shelter—saving lives and loving the animals,” writes BARCs.

Watch the sweet video below and be sure to have the sound on, it’s too heart-melting to miss.

And so everyone knows, Meesha was spayed in order to be ready to go home with her new, adoptive family!
