Lara is a Pit Bull, and like many of her breed, she ended up in the hands of the wrong people. People who took her out to a forest and tied her up to a tree in the middle of nowhere knowing she was pregnant – leaving her to give birth alone, without food, water or shelter.
Somehow Lara managed to survive and kept her puppies alive for 10 days until she was finally rescued.
People in the nearby village of Nafplion, Greece knew about her, but nobody untied her, nor provided her with food or water.
By the time rescuers with The Orphan Pet brought her to a home shelter, she was extremely malnourished, dehydrated and in shock. One of the puppies did not make it, but the three remaining ones are thriving and are ready for their forever homes.
