Sad Dog Waited For 5 Years For Someone To Love Him Until His Plea Went Viral

After 5 years of waiting, a shelter dog has finally found a home for Easter after his story went viral.

Chester is a red-nosed Pit Bull mix who has lived at the North Fork Animal Welfare League‘s New York shelter for 5 of his 6 years of life. The shelter posted a heartbreaking photo on Facebook of Chester holding a cardboard sign pleading for a forever family.

The sign read:

“Why doesn’t anybody want me? I’ve been waiting 5 years. Everyone at the shelter tells me what a good boy I am. So why has no one adopted me? I promise to be good and love my new family. Please maybe you are my new family … I sit and wait for you to come.”

The post was shared tens of thousands of times by animal lovers online.

Considering Chester loves snuggling on the couch, long walks, car rides and belly rubs, it didn’t take long before the shelter received a flood of calls and emails.

Then after just a few days after Chester’s plea … wonderful news! Among all the interest was one family from Lake Ronkomkoma, who had seen Chester on Facebook and they wanted him to adopt him!

Chester’s dream has come true. After his long wait, he is finally going home with his new family!

Share Chester’s happy ending with your friends and family!
