Puppy Left To Die In Plastic Bag Saved By One Facebook Post

Social media has an incredible power to save lives. A small puppy was trapped in a plastic bag and thrown down a ravine in Rondon, Brazil when a woman stumbled across him. Unable to reach him herself, she posted a photo and an urgent note to Arca de Noé – GAPA (Noah’s Ark) Facebook page.

Marcia Lutz wrote, “He is inside a plastic bag. The place is difficult to access. I can’t save his life. Can anyone help me?”

Luckily, a nurse, Cláucia Jackline de Oliveira, saw the photos of the puppy, and was close by to where the puppy had been spotted. She and another nurse ran out to get the puppy, rescuing her less than 30 minutes after Lutz had posted the picture.

They climbed down the ravine and picked up the dog to bring her to safety. “The plastic bag was already full of feces and urine,” Cláucia said. The smell was unbearable! Poor thing…”

The female puppy was checked over and is okay. Shortly after Oliveira asked the Facebook group if someone would be able to look after the puppy and within an hour she posted to the page that “It has been solved” and the puppy had been adopted!

Talk about kindness in action! One member in the group was very touched by the group’s mobilized effort. “I want to thank everyone who was concerned, who rescued, who cared,” wrote Jake Quasne. “I still see hope for a better world with your kind of attitude.”
