Esther was severely abused in a puppy mill before being rescued and then rehabilitated by Debi Stevens and her Prison Trained K-9 Companion Program.
Esther’s story is part of the documentary series called Castaways which chronicles the successful rehabilitation program of prison inmates training unwanted dogs for adoption. The results are life changing for the prisoner, dog and future adopter.
In Esther’s case, she meets Jason at the prison and the two form a heartwarming bond. It’s remarkable watching these two outcasts share a friendship that helps them both so much!
