When Lyle Welsh and his family were out boating on the Columbia River in the U.S. they noticed a fawn alone and far from shore swimming in the middle of the water. Noticing the baby animal was struggling to keep her head above the water, they decided to help get her back to shore.
It’s not clear how the baby deer ended up in the water all by herself, but she was lucky to have been spotted by the Welsh family. Hopefully her mom was close by and able to find her once she was safely back on dry land!
