Orphaned Baby Elephants Get Unexpected ‘Moms’ Who Take Care Of Their Every Need

These baby elephants have lost their families, but thanks to an exceptional group of men who treat them as if they were their own children, they are not alone.

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has rescued and rehabilitated elephants for decades. The orphaned elephants they take into their care are looked after by caretakers who take care of their every need.

The men play “mom” to orphaned baby elephants — they even sleep with them and tuck them in at night. Once the elephants are grown up, they are reintegrated into a fully protected wild area.

Share what these wonderful people do to protect and care for elephants with your friends and family.
