Firefighter Miraculously Catches Toddler Thrown From Burning Building

A firefighters made a dramatic catch of child thrown from a burning apartment building, and he wasn’t the only one. A helmut camera caught the intense scene after a fire broke out in an apartment building in Georgia, USA.

Firefighter Captain Scott Stroup made a life-saving catch when a woman dropped her child from a third floor balcony to save her life from a fire.

The dramatic footage of the firefighter’s catch is going viral, but the young girl was not the only baby Stroup and firefighters caught that day. They caught several babies and children whose parents threw them over balconies in a desperate attempt to save them.

“We were catching babies like a football, literally,” DeKalb County Fire Rescue Capt. Eric Jackson told CBS.

Firefighter Captain Jackie Peckrul also caught a baby thrown from a balcony, while on a ladder, right next to Captain Scott Stroup.

Occupants inside were “literally dropping their children down to our firefighters and we were catching them, and that was before we put any water on the fire,” Jackson told reporters.

The dangerous fire broke out inside a Georgia apartment building. At least four adults and eight children sustained injuries and have been hospitalized, news media reports. But thankfully, none of them have life-threatening injuries.

In CNN’s video they interview firefighter Jackie Peckrul and Capt. Eric Jackson describe her rescue of a baby while climbing a ladder.
