Now here’s a great way to wrap up the summer and help homeless animals at the same time. The outdoor public pools in Calgary, Alberta opened for the dogs on Monday. Dogs were invited to take a plunge after the pools closed for the season to raise money for charity. Hundreds of dogs are free to splash and swim in the pools. It’s one epic doggie pool party!
After the fun is over, the staff clean out the pool before it’s drained and cleaned for next season. “Oh, it’s hairy,” one lifeguard laughed while describing what cleaning up afterwards is like. But she also noted the dogs have a great time and it’s for a good cause. The money raised goes to the local humane society.
