Jake the Diamond Dog is a dog who loves his job. He showed up to a Fort Wayne TinCaps baseball game on Monday night and gave the umpires bottles of water out of a basket in return for head pats.
He made his rounds in the infield carrying a basket filled with water balls for players and umpires. The short clip taken at the game on June 27, 2017 has quickly gone viral, as Jake calmly saunters over to one umpire, waits for the man to take a drink and return the bottle to the basket, before getting his well-earned pat on the head.
Jake also woofs to open a game, delivers prizes to happy fans in the stands, delivers the game ball to the pitcher, shags foul balls and retrieves bats off the field. MLB reporter Adrian Garro reports that Jake has entertained Minor League fans at ballparks around the country.
