Cow Gives Birth To Rare Quadruplet Calves

A cow in Northeast Texas has given birth to rare quadruplets. The four calves are named Eeny, Meeny, Miny, and Moo were born all healthy and happy, although a little smaller than the average calf. “We knew she was pregnant, but we didn’t know she was going to do this,” farmer Jimmy Barling said. “This was a shock. This blew our minds.”

Veterinarian Michael Baird told NBC that the odds of four live births from one cow are 1 in 11.2 million. Those are pretty high odds!

Their mother, Fifteen, won’t be nursing all four of them, that’s too much for one cow to handle. So Barling’s neighbors are pitching in to help raise the babies. According to Barling, Moo has stayed with her mother, while Eeny, Meeny and Miny are with two different caretakers.
