Cop Finds Abandoned Dog In Vacant House And Ends Up Taking Him Home

Sometimes all it takes is being in the right place and the right time to save a dog’s life. On March 20, 2016, Officer Ashley Acord from the Baltimore Police Department was on patrol when she observed suspicious activity around a vacant house and stopped to investigate.

While she was investigating, she found a Pit bull inside and tied to a door knob. The young dog was groomed pretty well and did not show any signs of aggression so officers took him outside.

As the dog appeared to be abandoned and officers could not find the dog’s owner, Acord helped transport him to Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS.)

While on the way to the shelter, she fell in love with the young grey and white terrier mix and decided if no one claimed him, she would! And that’s exactly what she did.

BARCS revealed that “Officer Acord visited our shelter EVERY single day Grayson was here, to check on him and tell him she was bringing him home after his legal, three-day stray hold was up.”

On that third day, Acord arrived at the shelter to take “Grayson” to his new home!

What a beautiful dog and a lucky one too! Share this happy adoption story with your family and friends!
