Kathryn Van Beek was walking home in the pouring rain when a tiny creature caught her attention. At first she thought it was a rat. But she soon realized it was a helpless kitten. Unable to find his mother, she scooped him up and brought him home.

Kathryn named him Bruce, after Bruce Wayne (aka Batman). He was found with his umbilical cord still attached and was just one day old.
