Woman Saves Day-Old Kitten Found Alone In The Pouring Rain

Kathryn Van Beek was walking home in the pouring rain when a tiny creature caught her attention. At first she thought it was a rat. But she soon realized it was a helpless kitten. Unable to find his mother, she scooped him up and brought him home.

Kathryn named him Bruce, after Bruce Wayne (aka Batman). He was found with his umbilical cord still attached and was just one day old.

Two days old.
Hi, my name's Bruce. My mum found me on the footpath on the way home from work. No one knew who I belonged…

He needed to be fed around the clock by hand.

Here’s a video of Bruce at just a week old. He’s got the tiniest, quietest purr.

At 12 days old he just wanted to sleep in daddy’s hands.

I don't want to sleep in my box! I want to sleep in dad's hands!

Eventually, he did open his eyes and soon he was standing and eating on his own.

Bruce got stronger and stronger with all the love and care he was receiving.

Eighteen days old
I think I look quite a bit like my namesake Batman (Bruce Wayne) in this photo, if I do say so myself.

Slowly but surely he grew into a very handsome cat.

Now he’s all grown up, it’s hard to believe he nearly died at a day old.

Thanks to Kathryn, Bruce survived and is one happy and loved cat!
