If you think baby sloths are cute when they are dry, wait until you see them when they are wet. The Aviarios Del Caribe sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica rescues orphaned sloths and nurtures the little ones and take care of their every need. Wednesdays are “bath days” for the babies, during which time their caregivers give them a special bath. It’s not exactly something they look forward to, but they get a shampoo and an organic concoction that prevents parasites.
As a reward after their bath, the cuties get a special treat of hibiscus flowers (they’re like chocolate to sloths). The fact that they look like “little puffballs” when they’re dry makes these sloths even cuter.
