Journalist and self-proclaimed dog lover Anderson Cooper reported a sad and personal piece of news recently, announcing that his beloved dog, Molly, had passed away.
On Tuesday he took to Instagram to post a photo of him and Molly. Molly is nestled next to him and napping on his chest. “An old picture of my sweet dog Molly, who passed away today,” Cooper captioned the photo.
The Welsh Springer Spaniel was often seen with Cooper around New York City.
She also appeared on his daytime talk show, Anderson, making her debut in 2011. He also spoke about her in 60 minute segment and professed to love dogs of all kinds. “The idea that a dog looking at you is ‘hugging you with their eyes’ to me, is really kind of cool,” Cooper said in the segment.
