Kind Woman Reads To Shelter Dogs To Give Them Comfort And Support

Sometimes kindness comes in quiet, small gestures. When I think about what shelter animals go through every day – confined to kennels and surrounded by strangers – it must be a scary experience. Thank goodness there are volunteers who take the time to help the homeless dogs and cats as best they can.

One person witnessed such a kindness when they saw a woman sitting in a shelter in Pennsylvania. They posted the photo on Imgur and captioned it: “This woman comes to my local humane society and sits in front of the dogs cage and reads books to the dogs.”

This woman is doing such a simple thing, but I’m sure it helps make the dogs there feel a little bit better. We all need to know we’re not alone! It’s also a great reminder that there are shelters out there that could use help.

As the person who shared the photo says, “They always need volunteers! You can do anything from dog walking, cat cuddling, to helping with the rabbits! I don’t get there as often as I would like because of work, but when I do it makes my day so much happier.”

Everyone can make a difference! Share this positive message with your friends and family!
