Burrito almost didn’t make it. The tiny puppy was saved from a hot parking lot where he had been abandoned and left to die. Burrito weighed only 15.5 ounces at the time and the vet guessed that Burrito was 26 days old. As soon as he was rescued, Burrito started to have seizures and it didn’t look like he would make it through the night.
“This is a video from the day after Burrito was rescued from being abandoned in a hot parking lot. He was severely undernourished and dehydrated, and soon we realized he was having seizures (possibly due to being a very young puppy left outside without food or shade, but possibly due to an underlying medical condition),” wrote Burrito’s rescuer.
“I cried while recording this video and it makes me cry every time I watch it, but I wanted to share what his seizures look like. Burrito has been seizure-free for over 3 days, thanks to receiving constant, loving care and anti-seizure medication.”

But now a few years on, Burrito is seizure free! He’s now happy, healthy, and “the best thing that ever happened to us” says his mom. “He’s a happy and adorable dog who has already made so many people so happy, and maybe seeing how he grows will prompt others to not give up on special needs puppies.”
