Hüseyin el-Hasan spotted a stray dog who had been hit by a car near his home in the city of Kilis. The injured dog had crawled to the meridian in the middle of the road.

The little boy ran home and got a blanket from his house and brought it to the dog and laid it over her to try and keep her warm.

Hüseyin then let others know and waited by the dog until help arrived. Animal care workers arrived and took the stray to a veterinarian, but sadly, the dog passed away from her injuries, according to Anadolu Ajansı news.

It’s reported that Hüseyin was very sad upon learning the dog passed away. After the city learned of the boy’s kindness, the city’s deputy mayor Cuma Özdemir visited the boy’s family to thank him personally.

Özdemir presented the boy with new blankets as way of thanks and remarked that while Hüseyin’s act of kindness may seem unremarkable to some people, it “represents the best of humanity”.
