When Animal Aid Unlimited first spotted Major Sahib, the old street dog had collapsed on the side of the street and was dying.
The side of his head was being eaten away by maggots form an old, untreated head wound.
“His body had completely given up and we believe that if we hadn’t rescued him right when we did, he likely wouldn’t have survived another day,” the animal welfare group based in India writes.
“It was easy to imagine him completely giving up on life, but this old boy wasn’t ready to say goodbye.” Instead, Sahib made an amazing recovery.
Back on his feet, he makes sure to get pets and cuddles from all the rescuers.
