Woman’s Emotional Encounter With Clerk At Wal-Mart Brings On The Tears

Paige Yore says she was waiting to check out at a crowded Wal-Mart on Friday when she noticed that the young man at the register was having a rough time.

“He can’t ring anything up, he can’t remember the codes, he’s taking deep breaths,” Yore recounts in her video, which has since gone viral with over 25 million views on Facebook.

Yore says things took a turn for the worse when a woman ahead of her lost her patience. “You suck at customer service!” the woman said. “I don’t know why you ever…got hired here.” She stepped up to the teen’s defense, but when she learned why the boy was having a bad day it stopped her in her tracks and made her cry. It left me in tears when I heard it too.

What Yore says happened next was a very human moment one that affected Yore deeply. She took it as a reminder to be grateful for what we have. “That just showed me that no matter what … don’t jump down their throat. Because they are fighting a battle that none of us know about. Just like all of us.”

Share her emotional story with your friends and family as a reminder to be kind to one another.

Update Dec 7, 2015: Wal-Mart has released a statement saying that this is not true. The company has spoken with the cashier and his mother is alive. The company also told media outlets that it reviewed surveillance video from the store and did not find evidence of any yelling, or that Yore hugged the cashier. Yore has not yet responded.
