True Story Of America’s Most Loyal Dog Is One Of Undying Devotion

Almost every dog lover has heard of the story of Hachiko, the loyal dog who waited 10 years at the train station for his owner’s return. But not many have heard the story of Shep, an equally touching tale of love, loyalty and man’s best friend.

After his owner died and his body shipped home, Shep waited five and a half years by a set of train tracks in Fort Benton, Montana for his owner to return.

When NBC’s Dateline stumbled upon Shep’s story, they dug into the dog’s history little further and found out about Shep’s amazing devotion and vigil at a train station at Fort Benton. Watch his story in the video below.
