Rescue Dog Is Making A Big Difference In The Lives Of Stray Cats In Her Neighborhood

A rescue dog is making a difference in the lives of stray cats in a Greek neighborhood. The cats have a formed a special bond with the dog named Meli and every time they see her taking a walk with with her parents, they follow after her. That’s because Meli’s adoptive parents are helping to feed and home the feral cats. Read more of this touching story below:

Meet Meli. She was rescued by Fay and Dionisis are a young couple from Athens, Greece, three and a half years ago.

While out on a walk with Meli, Fay and Dionisis noticed that they were followed by a stray cat on every walk. When the cat got sick, they brought him home and he never left.

They started to feed the stray cats when out walking Meli. Soon, the cats began to associate Meli’s walks with food.

The cats won’t approach Fay and Dionisis if Meli isn’t with them. But as soon as the cats see Meli on one of their daily walks, they come to get food.

The couple are now feeding and caring for around 30 cats in their neighborhood. At first, some neighbors did not like what they were doing.

But when they realized that Fay and Dionisis were doing more than simply feeding the cats, they left them alone.

The couple ensure the cats they are caring for are neutered and vaccinated. They have also found homes for several of the cats, especially the ones that fall ill or get injured and can no longer survive on the streets.

The cats have formed a very special bond with Meli and Meli is helping her parents with their rescue efforts.
