Police Officer Saves Abandoned Newborn Baby’s Life By Breastfeeding Her While Waiting For Help

A woman was collecting oranges in a Colombian forest when she stumbled across a tiny newborn baby girl hidden in the bushes. The baby was only a few hours old with her mother nowhere to be seen.

Officer Luisa Fernanda Urrea arrived and noticed hat the baby had part of her umbilical cord still attached and that she was going into hypothermia. The baby was also very hungry. Officer Urrea, being a new mother, immediately knew what she had to do to help save the baby’s life.

She began to breastfeed the starving baby while waiting for an ambulance. A video captures Officer Frenanda feeding the infant has been viewed nearly 4 million times and the officer’s livesaving action is being hailed by viewers around the world. Medics said that the baby might have died if not for Frenanda’s mothering.

“I’m a new mother and I have milk, and I recognized the needs that this poor little creature had,” Urrea told local news media. “I think any woman would have given her nourishment in the same circumstances.”

According to the news, police are looking for the baby’s birth mother and the Colombian Family Welfare Institute is now caring for the baby until they have found her an adoptive family.

Another newborn baby was rescued under dramatic circumstances when the baby was found in a public toilet.

Thank goodness Officer Frenanda was called to the scene. The outcome could have been tragic if it had not been for her quick thinking and her ability to feed the infant!
