Just like people, some dogs will eat practically anything—and then there are the fussy ones. Chewy the Newfoundland falls squarely into the latter camp. He’s not pleased when his mom runs out of his favorite treats and offers him substitutes that she insists are “very good.” But Mom can’t ignore the “sniff of disgust” Chewy gives her before throwing a hilarious tantrum.

Viewers couldn’t stop laughing. And those familiar with Chewy know exactly who he turns to when Mom lets him down: Grandma.

One viewer imagined Chewy’s internal monologue: “‘The audacity! How dare you run out of my desired treats, mother‽ Get this rubbish away from me! Grandmother shall hear of this insult!’ Probably Chewy.”

“Grandma would never run out of his treats,” wrote another TikTokker.

And sure enough, Grandma came through. Less than a day after Mom posted Chewy’s tantrum, Grandma called him over—treats in hand. Mom captioned the moment: “My Grandma calling my dog over with his favorite treat because she saw I failed him” followed by a laughing emoji and heart emoji.

Viewers loved the follow-up. “See? Grandma has Chewy’s favorite treat. I just love to see them together—they communicate so well,” said one commenter. “She showed me up for real,” Chewy’s mom replied.
