Mom Writes Heart-Wrenching Letter On Alcohol-Related Crash That Changed Her Life Forever

A woman’s heartbreaking post about how an alcohol-related car accident took the lives of her husband and infant son has gone viral and reveals the all-too-real horrors of drinking and driving. Destiny Mantia never expected her note to reach so many people, but she’s hoping it will help prevent someone else having to go through what she has gone through.

Mantia, 22, met her husband, Corey, when they were in high school.  Three years later, the young couple married and Mantia gave birth to a baby boy, Parker Lee, on June 23, 2013. It was early on the evening of Sept. 20, 2014, that Mantia’s life would be shattered. The family was driving across town for an appointment when a motorist hit their silver minivan.

Mantia said that the driver had been at a wedding reception prior to the accident and authorities reported that alcohol was a factor in the crash. Baby Parker died at the scene, and Corey died less than a day later. The woman who hit them also died. Mantia was the sole survivor of the crash.
