When this man lost his job and his home, he had to make the difficult choice to give up his dog, Reece, to the Great Plains SPCA in order to give Reece a chance to find a family who could better take care of him. However, nearly a year later, after the man’s life had turned around for the better, he visited the shelter’s website and saw that Reece was still there!
The Boxer mix had been adopted by two families in the time they were apart but it hadn’t worked out.
The Great Plains SPCA wrote on Facebook, “Almost a year ago, this man fell on hard times and lost his job and house and had to give up his best friend, Reece. Things turned around for him recently and he just happened to look on our website and saw Reece was still at our Independence Campus, waiting. We were able to reunite them, and needless to say, they both were ecstatic to be together again. Keeping families together – just one of the reasons why we rescue.”
