A Turkish explorer Cemal Gulas was on a 20-month voyage from the Bosphorus (Istanbul) to the Bering Strait when he met a friendly bear during his adventures in northern Turkey.
Cemal is in a pool of water under a waterfall. With outstretched arms, Cemal calls for the bear. Translated he’s saying ‘Come to me, son. Come to me, son’ and ‘Come to me, sweetheart’.
The playful bear joins him in the pool and the two have a funny splash fight before giving each other a hug! Apparently, Cemal found the cub and took care of the animal for about a year before releasing him back into the wild.
