Kitten Born Without Eyes Gets Happy Ending After A Rough Start

Meet Hope! Hope was just 4 months old when she was rescued from a parking lot in Burlington, Canada where she was found along with her mom and sister.

The stray kitten would have had a slim chance of surviving on her own because she was born completely blind with two very tiny, non-functional eyes. It’s a condition called microphthalmia.

Shortly after arriving at Burlington Humane Society, the organization began raising money for surgery to remove her eyes as they were causing her some discomfort.

Her story touched hearts throughout the community and donations poured in. One young girl named Katelyn asked that in place of presents for her birthday that her friends donate to Hope’s fund.

Several weeks later they had enough funds raised for Hope to undergo surgery and it was a success. The next step? Find a forever home.

She would need a special family to tend to her special needs but it didn’t take long for her to find a loving home. A few weeks after her surgery, she was adopted.

Her first day home she had a fun day exploring and “claimed her spot on the couch”.

She’s claimed a few other cozy spots since.
