Foster Dogs Who Spent 61 Days In Wilderness Finally Found

After escaping their foster home with Victoria Humane Society, two Border Collies fended for themselves for 61 days in the wild before they were finally found!

Searchers used bloodhounds, thermal cameras, hidden cameras and spent hundreds of hours tracking the dogs…and they finally managed to catch the elusive pair! The two dogs named Laverne and Shirley, had been previously rescued from a hoarder and are extremely wary of people. But their rescuers believe they can be successfully rehabilitated.

Shortly after the pair were retrieved, Victoria Humane Society updated their followers on Facebook and wrote:

“Just popping in to let everyone know we are settling in and doing fine. We are still a little scared but the lady here just keeps bringing us great food and we don’t even have to look for it! We have met the dogs that live here and they are very nice to us. We have been outside and had a little walk and we have been exploring our big new room. We are eating and drinking really well. A lady from the vets office came and checked us out. The two legged people that live here were making us another big fence last night cuz they are worried we may try and run again…but we have had enough adventures for a while! We have new collars with GPS tracking on them……(I don’t think they trust us ?)
Thanks to everyone that kept bringing us such great food while we were on the lam. (We loved the sardines!)”

It’s amazing the two survived for so long on their own! Share their rescue with your friends!
