By the time Duke was unleashed from the chain to which he had been bound to for 5 years, he was starving and had been left to die. The dog weighed a mere 20 pounds (9 kilos) and could barely lift the shackles he was bound by. He was rescued in Greece by the Ilioupolis Animal Welfare Union and was treated for roundworms and starvation.
With lots of love and medical care, Duke (now named Charlie) became the happiest dog you’ll ever see.
Today, Duke is living with a fantastic forever family and his three adopted siblings in Denmark. Here’s Charlie enjoying some quality time with his new family!
