Courtrooms aren’t usually pictured as places that make dreams come true, but for 5-year-old Danielle Koning, the courtroom became a place of fairy-tales. That’s because when she arrived in court for her adoption hearing, her caseworker had arranged for everyone to dress as characters from Disney movies!
Danielle is a huge fan of Disney. As Danielle sat before the judge with her foster parents Sarah and Jim Koning, she was completely surprised when in walked Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, Prince Charming, among others. Even the judge joined in by dressing as Snow White. Danielle was absolutely delighted and had a huge grin on her face!
When the moment came for Judge Gardner to make her final decision on her adoption, Danielle got to go behind the bench and strike the gavel herself, while Gardner and the court gallery called out, “It is so ordered!” May they live happily ever after!
