Police Officer Saves Puppy From Septic Drain And Decides To Keep Him

Sheriff’s deputies were leaving a call at a home in Fort Pierce recently when they heard a dog whimpering. Searching for the sound, they made a startling discovering in the vacant lot next door. A poor little puppy had fallen into a collapsed septic drain.

“Scared and exhausted, they pulled him out, gave him several baths and attempted to locate an owner in the neighborhood,” the St. Lucie’s County Sheriff’s Department writes on Facebook.

When the officers couldn’t find anyone, they took the puppy back with them.

Not long after that the puppy was adopted by the deputy who rescued him.

It wasn’t long before the puppy (now named Puddle) put the memories of the dirty drain behind him…

And as the Sheriff’s Office says, he’s “now enjoying a life in the lap of luxury”! And an occasional sneaker.
