Police Officer Performs Act Of Kindness For Woman Whose Husband Passed Away

Sometimes small gestures mean a lot in times of crisis. One Glendale police sergeant went above the call of duty to help a grieving widow after her husband passed away. Sgt. Jeff Turney was responding to Geraldeine’s Arizona home after her husband had died that morning to try and comfort her when he noticed her front door lock was broken. He knew the lock was unsafe, and with her husband gone, he knew he had to help her fix it.

Using his own Home Depot card, he sent an officer to pick up a front door lock and then he grabbed his tool bag and installed the new lock.

“When the coroner finally came and got my husband, I walked over here and he was working on it, and I have never seen that before, that’s a new one,” said Geraldeine.

No wonder Turney’s kind-hearted gesture went viral. What a thoughtful thing to do.
