I’m always interested in learning more about what happens to everyday objects after they are dropped in the recycling bin. For example, what happens to all those styrofoam cups that are thrown away at Chick-fil-A after you’re done drinking?
The following video walks through the fascinating process that transforms their foam cups into park benches! Every week, the used cups are taken to a recycling facility that breaks down the cups, chopping them into tiny pieces. From there, the pieces are extruded and cold-bonded into “logs” that are then taken to a facility that manufactures products out of recycled plastic. Using the broken-down cups and other materials, the company makes benches out of them that everyone can enjoy.
