Homeless Man Walks Into Cafe And Asks Owner For Money, 2 Weeks Later He’s Still There

Cesia Abigail was working at the cafe she owns when a man came inside and asked her for money. Whereas many restaurant owners would turn away a panhandler, Cesia chose a different approach. What she did has since gone viral.

Cesia owns Abi’s Cafe in Minneapolis, Minnesota but she had been recently struggling to keep her restaurant afloat.

When a homeless man named Marcus came into her restaurant in March 2016 and asked her for money, she didn’t kick him out, but she did have some questions for him.

“Why don’t you have a job?” Cesia asked Marcus. “You know nothing is given to me for free, right?”

Marcus told her that he was a convicted felon with a tough backstory. “Well, I have a lot of felonies and no one wants to hire me for that, so now I had to turn myself to the streets and get money the only way I know, stealing and asking for money,” he explained to her.

Even though she was having a tough time and was overworked and exhausted, Cesia proposed to Marcus that he come and work for her.

“I was short staff that day,” Cesia wrote on Facebook. “So I asked him, ‘You want to work? I have a job for you!’

“His eyes opened wide and his smile made my day!!!! He said, ‘I’ll do anything for some food.’”

“So now for almost 2 weeks he been on time for his two hour shift… helping take trash, washing dishes, etc.

“Once I pay him, guess what he does? He buys food from my restaurant (HE DECIDES TO PAY) because it makes him feel good!”

Cesia says she’s seen Marcus pay it forward and give some of his food to a homeless woman.

“Do something nice for someone today and don’t judge them just because they out there asking for money for we don’t know their situation… some deserve another shot,” Cesia writes on Facebook.

“God gave me this blessing so why can’t I bless others?”

What a kind woman! Share her kind gesture with your friends and family.
