Boy Sees A Student Unable To Buy School Lunch, Ends Up Buying Lunches For 295 Kids

Cayden Taipalus was getting lunch at school one day when he noticed the kid in front of him put down his lunch tray because he didn’t have enough money to pay for it. It made Cayden sad, so he went home and told his mom and asked her if there was anything he could do to help.

They decided to collect bottles and cans to raise money to help kids pay for their lunch debts and put more money on their lunch accounts. When word got out, Cayden started getting support from friends, family and complete strangers. In the end, Cayden’s efforts paid off and he managed to bring in donations to buy 295 hot lunches for students who couldn’t afford the food they wanted!

“I am so very proud of my son,” his mother, Amber Peters told ABC News. “He is only 8 years old and to grasp the concept around this is just amazing in my eyes. He has a heart of gold.”

For Cayden, he is modest about his accomplishments. He says, “A small thing can turn out to be a big thing.”
