Rescued Baby Otters Squeak While Eating Lunch

It’s a sad reality that in many places in the world wild animals are being hunted to be sold as exotic pets, which was the case with these two baby otters who were thankfully rescued by Spanish animal-lover/advocate and TV host Frank Cuesta.

Cuesta, who studied veterinary medicine and currently lives in Thailand has a show called “Wild Frank” and he’s a little bit like a Spanish Steve Irwin. He recently got a tip that these otter pups were going to be sold on the black market and managed to intercept them and bring them to his rescue facility.

As they are orphaned, the pups need to be fed and looked after for the next few months. But Cuesta says that he must limit their exposure to people and train them to be afraid of humans if they are to be successfully reintroduced into the wild.

As sad as that sounds, it’s for a good end – releasing them back into the wild and sustaining the population.

This is not the first time Cuesto has saved baby otters. A few months before, he rescued four other wild otters. The guy he rescued them from hit him with a stick but he managed to get away with them.

While you won’t be able to understand Cuesta unless you speak Spanish, hearing these adorable youngsters squeaking while they eat will put a smile on your face. And knowing they will be back in the wild where they belong is even more wonderful.
