95-Year-Old’s Wish Comes True When She Gets To Rub Noses With Clydesdales

95-year-old Marion Roberts has loved horses her whole life. When she was 7 she got her first pony and in her teen years was a trick rider at the rodeo. So naturally, when she was recently asked by her hospice caregivers if she could have “one best day” what would it be, she answered “I’m a horse person”.

She requested a trip to Warm Springs Ranch, the famous home to Budweiser Clydesdales in Boonville, Missouri where over 70 of the beautiful horses live.

Marion is staying at Crossroads Hospice, which has a special program for their patients that they call Crossroads Hospice Gift of a Day. When they learned what Marion wanted for her special day, the staff and volunteers set to work to make Marion’s wish come true.

They reached out to Warm Springs Ranch, and although the ranch doesn’t open until April for tours, they graciously made an exception for Marion. And what a day it turned out to be! Marion got up close to the Clydesdales and even got to rub noses with one.

Crossroads Hospice shared the heartwarming outing on their blog. When they asked Marion what’s her favorite thing about horses, she replied, “Their trust. They trust you wholeheartedly, and you never want to break that trust.”

I’m so glad they could make Marion’s dream day come true! Share this touching outing with your friends and family!
