Toffee was a day away from dying when his rescuers received the urgent call to come and help him. Animal Aid Unlimited, India said that when they first saw him, he looked more dead than alive.

Toffee had suffered a mortal head wound. It had not been treated for so long that it had become infested with maggots. His overall health was also so bad that half his fur was gone.

But his will to live was strong and with the support his rescuers gave him, Toffee was pulled back from the brink of death.

They cared and nurtured him so that he slowly but surely recovered. His transformation is most visible in his eyes – where once they were listless now they are filled with joy.
