Firefighters Stop Traffic To Rescue Bald Eagle Blocking A Florida Road

Authorities in a Florida city were called to help a bald eagle that was blocking traffic on a busy road. It appears the eagle may have been hit by a car when she was munching on some road kill. Stunned and unable to fly away, the eagle didn’t move when Clearwater firefighters and police arrived to save her.

Footage on the scene shows the eagle staring at her rescuers, as they closed off a lane in order to rescue her.

They eventually secured the eagle and took her to Owl’s Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife to be cared for. The bald eagle had a chipped bone in her wing and was bruised, but as soon as she has recovered she will be released back into the wild.
