Surveillance Cameras Catch Unassuming Elderly Woman In Horrifying Act

A disturbing and terrifying story has come out of Russia that just goes to show you can never be too cautious with strangers and you most certainly cannot judge a book by its cover! 68-year-old Tamara Samsonova may look like a harmless old grandmother, but news has come out that she’s suspected of being a cannibalistic serial killer!

Warning: details of this story are distressing.

Samsonova, dubbed the “Granny Ripper”, was arrested July 26, 2015 after the St. Petersburg neighborhood where she lived began finding body parts in plastic bags. Investigators spotted her on surveillance cameras allegedly carrying bags full of the dismembered parts of her latest victim, 79-year-old Valentina Ulanova, which lead to her arrest.

Even more horrifying, investigators have reportedly discovered a diary that suggests she has been murdering and dismembering up to 11 victims over the past decade.

She reportedly admitted to killing Ulanova, a woman she had arranged to care for, after they had an argument over dirty dishes. She allegedly drugged Ulanova with sleeping pills and then dismembered her while she was still alive. Her other victims may have included several tenants who rented out her spare room in her apartment and her husband who she reported missing in 2005.

In jail, she blew a kiss to reporters, saying, “I knew you would come… It’s such a disgrace for me, all the city will know.” She also allegedly admitted to her crimes in court, admitting, “I am guilty and I deserve a punishment.”

Neighbors were completely caught off guard that someone seemingly so normal could be so deranged. There is more on the news story in the video below.

This is certainly a cautionary tale to be careful with strangers. That this woman was able to get away with what she did based on her appearance as a harmless old lady reminds me a bit of how Ted Bundy got away with his crimes because of his charisma and good looks.

Terrifying!
