Stray Dog Keeps Showing Up In Woman’s Garage Until She Lets Him Inside
Sometimes dogs just know when someone’s an animal lover. That’s what happened to Meagan King when she woke up to find a skinny stray dog in her garage. Living in a rural Texas community and working at a local animal shelter, Meagan was used to seeing country dogs roam — but it was still a surprise to find one at her doorstep.

The next morning, he was still there. He had no collar, no microchip, and despite Meagan posting about him on social media, no one came forward to claim him.
The dog stuck around, waiting each day for Meagan and her husband to come home. With no owner in sight, they decided it was up to them to help him. Even though they already had four dogs and a cat, they opened their home — and their hearts — to him. They originally planned to find him an adoptive home, but in the end, they couldn’t let him go. They named him Roman.

Roman turned out to be the sweetest dog. One day, he found a kitten and brought her home. Meagan’s first reaction was, “We can’t keep her!” — but just like with Roman, she brought the kitten inside. And just like Roman, the kitten never left. Now the two are best friends, always playing and hanging out together.
Meagan works as an animal behaviorist at Garland Animal Shelter & Adoption Center. You can support the work she and the shelter do by donating or adopting one of the many wonderful pets in need of a home.
