Rescuers Race Against Clock To Save Horse Who Fell On Ice

Thirty-three years ago, Val Patsiga rescued her then starving Arabian horse. This past week, the horse Aww-Gee faced another rescue after slipping and falling in an icy pasture.

“I let him out and he slipped on some ice. I saw him go down. His hind feet fell underneath him and that was it,” Val told Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV.

She called 911 and firefighters and police arrived to try and help the horse get back on his feet. With the cold temperatures, the team had to work quickly to make sure the horse didn’t get too cold.

Val is “so, so appreciative” for their help rescuing her sweet horse. Watch the news footage below of Aww-Gee’s rescue and what these firefighters did to help him!
