Mangy Pup’s Golden Eyes Shine With Trust and Hope as Rescuer Stops to Help

When Kristin Erwin of Streethearts Project drove by a known roadside dumping ground, she immediately spotted Vinny, a skinny Pit Bull puppy.

The mangy puppy was lying on the side of the road, no doubt confused and wondering what to do, and waiting for someone to stop. She immediately pulled over and the puppy ran over to her expectantly with his tail wagging.

Vinny looked up at her with his beautiful golden eyes, filled with trust and hope. She couldn’t help but wonder how many people had passed him by before she stopped.

“I drove down a road known for strays and dumped dogs in our town. Sure enough this young, sweet boy was lying on the side of the road. He appears to be around 6-8 months old and already living a rough life…I’m just glad we crossed paths. He’s a itchy mess and he clearly wanted help,” Erwin wrote on TikTok.

She drove Vinny home and immediately gave him a bath. He let her wash him and didn’t complain once. He just spent his time simply gazing at her and soaking up the attention.

Vinny is incredibly grateful and is now enjoying belly rubs, treats, and naps. “This sweet boy is really enjoying life off the streets and all the love that comes with it,” Erwin said. “He’s already been started on skin meds, dewormer and other skin supplements. We’ll hold off vaccinations until his immunity gets a little stronger.”

She’s promised to nurse him back to health and prepare him for his next chapter: a loving forever home.
