Mom Hears Strange Noise From Dog’s Mouth And Gets A Surprise
When a strange buzzing came from her dog’s mouth, one dog mom got the surprise of her life.
Dog mom TikTokker @Sassafras_007 heard a very loud buzzing noise coming from the mouth of her dog, Levy McGarden, so she went to take a closer look. “What do you have? Why is your mouth making that noise?” she asked her Australian Shepherd, who gave her a sheepish look. Levy stared back at her with a quizzical but stubborn expression, refusing to open her mouth despite her mom’s repeated attempts to get her to “drop it.”
Mom was forced to get closer and try to pry Levy’s mouth open and when she did… yikes! A large cicada plopped out before flying away.
The video quickly went viral, earning more than 25 million views.
Viewers reacted with a mix of sympathy and humor. One person wrote, “He’s like ‘I can’t hear you mom… I have a cicada in my mouth.'”

Levy’s mom calls the sound of cicadas “Levy’s siren call,” as her pup is endlessly curious and fascinated by the noise.
It turns out Levy’s cicada adventure wasn’t a one-time thing. Mom caught her again (cue “not again!”) with another buzzing prize.
Fellow pet parents chimed in, saying their dogs regularly grab the insects. “My rotty/pit constantly does this. Won’t eat ’em. Just likes the buzz,” one viewer commented.
@Sassafras_007 later thanked a fellow TikTokker who shared a trick to get a dog to open their mouth: “It is to put your thumb and finger in back of their jaw and gently squeeze. She just let it go when I touched her this time.”
