At first, Carl Allen didn’t believe what he was seeing. There was a dog in the middle of the street with his muzzle and legs bound. Carl turned to his friend and asked if they were really seeing a dog “with its mouth taped shut”.
He and his friend pulled over and another passer-by stopped to help too. The 8-month-old puppy was so frightened he tried to run away when they first approached.
“The dog started urinating on itself it was so terrified. We just kept trying to pet it and tell it that everything was ok, that we’re just trying to help you.” Allen said.
The Good Samaritans were eventually able to calm the dog enough to remove the tape and waited with the German Shepherd until animal control came. The dog is now recovering in their care.
Allen still can’t believe someone would do that to an innocent puppy. “I hope karma comes back around and gets them good,” he said. “They need to go to jail.”
