Kirk Fetter awoke to a loud noise outside his home and discovered his 8-year-old dog, Tiki, being dragged off the porch by a huge mountain lion! With no time to spare, Kirk ran outside in only in his underwear to rescue Tiki from the jaws of the mountain lion. Feder charged at the cat while his wife threw objects from the balcony above and luckily it worked, and the mountain lion dropped Tiki and ran away.
Tiki had bite marks to her head, but the veterinarian says she will be okay! Kirk says dealing with wildlife is one of the challenges with living in rural Placerville, California. “Keep your pets in at night and watch your children at dusk,” Kirk advises after the incident. Thank goodness Tiki is all right and no one else was hurt!
