Wild Elephant Walks Into Thai Grocery Store And Picks Out His Favorite Snacks

A hungry wild elephant surprised customers in Thailand when he wandered into a grocery store in search of a snack and barely fit through the entrance!

The male elephant, named Plai Biang Lek, strolled into the store in Nakhon Ratchasima province, near the edge of Khao Yai National Park. He helped himself to nine bags of sweet rice crackers, eggs, a sandwich, and some bananas running up a bill of around 800 baht (about $21), though the store isn’t expecting payment anytime soon.

The moment was caught on camera, showing the elephant’s massive frame brushing the ceiling as he navigated the tight aisles.

Despite his size, Plai Biang Lek managed to move carefully, causing only minimal damage, knocking over a few items and gently shuffling others around with his trunk as he explored the shelves.

Once he’d had his fill of snacks, rangers were able to guide him back out of the store by shouting his name and gently shooing him out.
