After Kelly’s small act of kindness towards a homeless woman went viral, Ellen Degeneres knew she had to invite Kelly onto her show.
Kelly lives in Chicago, where winter has set in fiercely. Recently, when Kelly and her husband were coming home from a Chicago Bears football game, they were in a rush to catch their train and get out of the cold. That’s when Kelly noticed a homeless woman holding up a sign that read she needed warmer clothes. Kelly immediately turned to her husband and told him, “I need to give this woman my boots.”
Kelly and the woman spoke for a bit and it turns out that they had exactly the same size of shoe. “This is real. I believe that ‘right place right time,’ and this was that moment,” Kelly told Ellen.
But her story doesn’t end there. The homeless woman grew concerned about Kelly and asked what she was going to walk in? That’s when she gave Kelly the only other pair of shoes she owned.
After hearing what Kelly had done, and learning of all the other small acts of kindness Kelly has done for strangers, Ellen hands Kelly her own boots. What Kelly didn’t know was what was tucked inside!
